THE STORY BEHIND
A traditional Faroese knitting pattern, called ,,Rossagriftin,, published in the book ,,Føroysk bindingarmynstur,, in 1932 by Hans Marius Debes - a tailor who did a remarkable job collecting traditional Faroese knitting patterns to ensure that they would continue to inspire generations of knitters.
In creating this sweater, we were drawn to the natural harmony found in Nordic landscapes — the depth of earthy browns, the muted tones of stone, and the gentle movement of the sea. These elements informed both the colour and the expression of the pattern, allowing the traditional pattern to feel calm, modern, and deeply connected to its origins.
