Hand Knitted in the Faroe Islands
The majority of our knitwear collections are hand knitted locally. We work together with 50 women across the Faroe Islands who are just as passionate as they are skilled about knitting and contributing to the lineage of this Faroese tradition.
Each design is first made as a prototype, by Beinta, which she then drafts into a pattern to be passed on to the knitters. Once a knitted garment is finished, it is then delivered to the shop and inspected for quality before being made available to purchase.
Our knitwear collections are a small batch production, made in limited quantities at a time, as well as on a made to order basis. These collections always feature carry over pieces from earlier seasons, in new colors, or with slightly altered details.
All the residual or waste yarns are put to use by being made into one of a kind pieces, like beanies and sweaters.
